The company’s retirement
plan is an important component of our total compensation package. Celanese offers its employees a comprehensive
retirement plan consisting of basic and additional coverage. In addition, it offers its employees the
option of converting a limited portion of their salary into retirement fund payments.
Basic
coverage: For the basic retirement plan coverage, a percentage of the employee’s
monthly salary is paid into the company’s retirement plan; this contribution is matched by the company.
The contribution the employee pays into the basic system is based on the standard German threshold level
for income assessable for contributions.
Additional
coverage: For
any portion of the employee’s salary which is above the standard German income threshold level for assessing
contributions, the company pays an additional amount towards that employee’s retirement coverage.
